St Helens Education Office

Aims and Objectives of Education Office.
  • To promote the educational philosophy of the Christian Brothers and the vision of Blessed Edmund Rice
  • To select, train, and support boards of Management in a manner complementary to the practices of Catholic Secretariat and Catholic Primary Schools Managers Association (CPSMA).
  • To support school principals in their roles as executives of the Boards of Management.
  • To promote good practices in school such as: Whole School Planning. Good Behaviour Management Creative Approaches to Learning and Teaching.
  • To foster links between schools of the Christian Brothers of Network and Third Level Institutions as well as Education centres in areas such as teacher professional development.
  • To liaise with other educational bodies and congregations, particularly those who have a similar ethos to the Christian Brothers, in areas such as training and implementation of legislation.
  • To act in a representative capacity at negotiations and processes designed to make recommendations on matters as required by the Trustees.
  • To promote practices in schools that would be compatible with the Spirit of Partnership as laid down in Dept. of Education policies e.g. establishing Parent Councils and Student Councils.
  • To promote financial accountability.
